1. Introduction & Developer Information

MeeWii ("the Application", "we", "our", or "us") is an independent open-source emulator for iOS and iPadOS created and maintained by ParienteKun. This Privacy Policy explains how MeeWii handles information when you download, install, and use our application or visit our official website (meewii.com).

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

MeeWii operates under a strict Zero Telemetry policy. We do not collect or process:

• No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account logins are required to use the emulator.
• No Tracking or Advertising Identifiers: We do not track users across apps or websites. We do not access IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers) or vendor IDs.
• No Gameplay or ROM Analytics: We have no visibility into what games you play, your play duration, filenames, or gaming habits.
• No Location Data: We do not request, access, or track your physical location or GPS data.
• No Financial Data: MeeWii is completely free. We do not collect payment details or credit card information.

3. On-Device Local Data Storage

All data created or imported by you remains strictly local on your iOS device within the sandboxed application directory:

• Game Files & Backups: Supported ROM formats (.RVZ, .ISO, .WBFS, .WAD, .GCZ, .DOL) that you import stay stored exclusively in your local storage or designated folder via the iOS Files app.
• Save Data & Memory Cards: Virtual GameCube memory cards (.raw, .gcp) and Wii NAND save files are generated and stored on your device.
• Configuration & Shaders: Emulator preferences, controller mappings, button layouts, and compiled Metal shader caches are saved locally.

4. Apple iCloud Synchronization

If you enable iCloud synchronization, MeeWii utilizes Apple’s native CloudKit / iCloud Drive APIs to synchronize your virtual memory cards and save files across your personal Apple devices (such as iPhone and iPad).

This data is stored directly in your private Apple iCloud container, encrypted by Apple, and is only accessible through your authenticated Apple ID. The developers of MeeWii have zero access to your iCloud files or credentials.

5. Apple TestFlight Beta Diagnostics

If you participate in our public beta via Apple TestFlight, Apple may collect standard, anonymized crash logs, device hardware models, and operating system versions in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy. This information is used strictly to diagnose crashes and optimize performance during the beta phase.

6. Third-Party Integrations & External Links

MeeWii features optional synergy with the SUMEE! retro gaming launcher and provides links to our official Discord community, Apple App Store, and GitHub repositories. When visiting external services, their respective privacy policies apply. We encourage you to review their terms.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

MeeWii does not knowingly collect, request, or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). Because our application does not collect personal data from any user, it is fully safe for all age groups.

8. User Rights & Data Deletion

Under global privacy frameworks including GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act), you have full control over your data:

• Deleting Data: Deleting the MeeWii app or deleting files from the "MeeWii" folder in the iOS Files app instantly and permanently purges all local data.
• Managing Cloud Data: You can manage or delete synced iCloud data anytime via iOS Settings > [Your Apple ID] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage > MeeWii.
